CERTIFICATION
Church Foundations
Study with Prof. N.T. Wright through the page-turning drama of events in the Acts of the Apostles. Learn how Jesus’ first followers found themselves doing and saying things they never dreamed possible. You will see God’s rescuing work through the Spirit’s transforming power to reshape human lives and communities. In the Apostle Paul’s letters to the church at Corinth you will examine practical matters of church foundations, including questions concerning worship, marriage, sex, and men and women working together in church leadership.
Discover why these issues were important to the early church, and why they matter today. Explore Paul’s travels as he shared the message of the crucified and risen Jesus. Study his theology of resurrection and apostleship, and themes of unity, holiness, worship, suffering, and thanksgiving.
The curriculum that comprises this Certification includes four advanced courses centering on the foundations of the early Church. Throughout each section of these courses, you will have the opportunity to test your knowledge of the material with quizzes, and time to reflect with discussion questions.
